I remember up until recently I used to really hate the way I looked. I would look into a mirror and think to myself that I look too fat, or had too much acne, or my boobs looked deformed, and so on and so on. And really, it doesn’t matter. Because I know that I’m beautiful. I learned to take the advice from my cousin when she said—and I’m paraphrasing here—“Sometimes you just have to look into a mirror and say ‘DAYUM I LOOK GOOD’”. It doesn’t mean that your ego is inflated if you say that. It doesn’t make you a conceded bitch if you aren’t “modest”. Because truly, we’re all beautiful. Yes, that includes everyone who looks into a mirror and thinks that they’re having a “bad hair day”, or a “feeling fat day”, or a “way too skinny day”, or any other one of those times.
You’re still you. And you are beautiful no matter what. Don’t let a reflective surface tell you otherwise.
